One of the start points of a stage of the Wales Rally was near my abode this Sunday. In previous years they roped off the street and used it as a staging area. I had visions of wondering about effectively a pit lane getting great candid shots of drivers and pit crews.
In the end all we had was the opportunity to stand by turning into the forestry plantation road up to the start line. Gone are the days of spectators lining the roads looking for the juicy points where the cars go airborne and turning the cars back over when they roll.
I took 420 pictures and kept 15.
